OUR MISSION

Environment

For us, controlling our resources and innovation are fundamental. so we promote the use of renewable sources of energies by installing solar panels. The sun is a renewable source of energy that does not contaminate and reduces the emissions of greenhouse gases. We have installed solar panels in our wineries. These panels help to fulfill up to 20 % of the total energy usage. Our panels currently generate between 35000 and 40000 kWH/year. We also have a programme targeted at reducing energy usage and improving energetic efficiency, thus leading to the minimization of greenhouse gases emissions.

Sustainable viticulture

We are devoted, generation after generation, to the conservation of the environment and responsible exploitation of natural resources.

At Pere Seda, we have always practiced a viticulture that is respectful to the environment by using products that are not damaging to our natural surroundings. The 54 hectares that are owned by Pere Seda are managed by the integrated production system, a system which is more respectful to the environment than traditional agriculture. Moreover, a majority of the farmers that grow grapes for Pere Seda are also using the integrated production system, following Pere Seda’s counsel.

Waste management

At Pere Seda, we are fully committed to the preservation of the environment, which is shown by the protections and improvements that have been implemented in all our activities, from the vineyard to the winery, as well as logistics. We understand this responsibility as an active duty and we develop it in different focus points by making a good use of the elements for recycling.

At Pere Seda, we champion an excellent waste management protocol for any waste generated during the production of wine and also for logistics. The winery includes an entire section that is solely dedicated to the sorting of the waste materials into different categories such as glass, cardboard and plastic containers. Organic waste produced during the wine making process, like grape peel, are repurposed as food for farm animals, thus giving a sustainable use to organic waste.
